School Counselor Mission Statement

The Tulpehocken Area School District K-12 School Counseling program supports an environment that meets the academic, personal/social/emotional, and career development needs of all students.  This allows all students to learn, improve, and meet the challenges of an ever-changing society.  It is important to provide a safe, supportive, collaborative, and non-judgmental climate for these students. School counselors, teachers, administrators, families, business/community, and post-secondary partners all play a vital role in the development of the school counseling program.  We strive to collaborate as a whole to help in the success of each and every student.

Role of School Counselor

What is a School Counselor?

School Counselors assist and support students in reaching social, academic, and emotional goals. School Counselors provide individual counseling, small groups, classroom lessons, and scheduling assistance (JSHS) to help students achieve these goals.
School Counselors work together with staff, parents, and community supports to help make school a successful experience. We are here to serve the needs of all students.
