DEP

Good afternoon everyone,

The purpose for this communication is to let you know that while construction at the middle school/high school campus is progressing, we were informed in June that a permit application for the new equipment for well water treatment was never submitted on behalf of the district.  As soon as we were notified of this, our district staff immediately began the application process.  DEP has graciously expedited the process for our application.  In the meantime,  we will not have the permit by August 26 for safe drinking water.  While we do not have the permit in place, DEP was not concerned with the quality of our water since the well has not changed.   As a precaution, we will be required to provided bottle water for cooking and drinking.  No water fountains will be allowed to operate.  Signage will be posted around the building to let students and visitors know that they should not drink the water in the water fountains or sinks.

I am very sorry for this inconvenience, but we are working on a solution with DEP to expedite the process and have the water operable as normal.   We anticipate that this process could take several weeks and will keep everyone informed as we progress through the process.

I have included a document from DEP indicated what was stated above, as we are required to provide you with this notice.

Thank you and if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly.

 Andy Netznik, Superintendent
